Fresh face for World Traveller

British Airways has unveiled freshly-designed soft blankets and cushions and a new headrest for passengers in its World Traveller long-haul Economy Class cabin as part of its continuing customer service overhaul.

In a classic herringbone design, the items are available on long-haul flights to and from Heathrow and will launch on long-haul flights to and from Gatwick on 1 March. Blankets that are being replaced are being donated to charities and other good causes.

BA director of customer experience Carolina Martinoli said: “We want passengers to be able to sit back and really relax on board, making the most of the comfortable new furnishings, in-flight entertainment and four-course World Traveller menu.

“Our aim is to deliver them to their destinations feeling refreshed and thinking that their trips are off to a great start.”

Other recent improvements for BA passengers include the arrival of 73 new aircraft, refurbishment of the long-haul fleet with new cabins, new dining options and new bedding and amenity kits for First, Club World and World Traveller Plus.

Quality onboard wi-fi on every aircraft and access to power at every seat are in the pipeline, while BA has also introduced its Club Suite with direct aisle access in Business Class on its A350 aircraft, with a roll-out across the BA long-haul fleet to come.
