World’s first oneworld lounge for Moscow

Oneworld, the airline alliance, and Moscow Domodedovo Airport have signed an agreement for the world’s first oneworld branded lounge. Domodedovo is home to alliance member S7 Airlines. Opening date will be announced later this year.

Oneworld CEO Rob Gurney said the new facility would aim to deliver a superior experience for premium passengers and frequent flyers of member airlines of the alliance travelling from the airport.

He added: “We are excited to launch the first oneworld branded lounge in this momentous year, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary with an invigorated mission to deliver the highest levels of service and the most seamless travel experience.”

Airport director Igor Borisov said: “Thanks to this joint project of the airport and oneworld, our passengers will receive exclusive world-class service.

“We are confident this will have a positive impact on strengthening the alliance's brand in the Russian market, and Domodedovo will become even more attractive for frequent flyers of the oneworld alliance.”

Domodedovo serves as a major hub for the alliance in Russia. Including the S7 Airlines operations, the airport handles more than 150 daily flights by oneworld member airlines including British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines and Qatar Airways
