Edinburgh welcomes new Travelodge Plus

Travelodge has opened its first new-build property under the Travelodge Plus brand in Scotland with a property in Edinburgh (as previewed in BTN 14 October 2019).

Travelodge Edinburgh Park, the company’s 46th hotel in Scotland, is close to South Gyle and Edinburgh park stations and the City of Edinburgh bypass, to the west of the city centre.

Introduced last year, Travelodge Plus features enhanced “budget chic rooms” with king-size Travelodge Dreamer beds, blackout curtains, USB ports, bespoke pixel wall art showcasing popular UK locations.

The properties also feature a new “Tranquillity Zen” colour scheme with tones of “warm taupe, serenity beige and light white”.

Also included are the Travelodge Super Rooms, launched in 2017, as well as a new bar/café design with counter seating offering built-in USB and laptop power, more intimate booths and dining benches for groups, and a new statement bar.

Travelodge Edinburgh Park is the first new-build Travelodge Plus property in Scotland after Travelodge Edinburgh Central was upgraded to the brand following a million-pound refurbishment programme.
