Etihad seems to have decided that after a short period of its T4 hospitality being operated and branded by No 1 Lounges, a safer option is to deal with it inhouse. In the past, and currently, it is one of Heathrow's best, with a separate waiter-service dining area.
The airline, whose blue-ribbon route is Heathrow to Abu Dhabi, has put out a statement.
“Following a strategic review of lounge operations globally, Etihad Airways has decided that it wishes to directly own and operate a number of flagship lounges. As long-term and supportive partners, and underpinning a shared commitment to providing exceptional service and hospitality for guests, No1 Lounges is happy to support this move.
“The premium lounge for Etihad Airways guests at Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 will now be operated by Etihad Airways, with No1 Lounges continuing to provide catering and facilities services. This move further demonstrates a significant continued investment by Etihad Airways in the market as it launches a permanent fourth daily flight between London Heathrow and Abu Dhabi.
”No1 Lounges will continue to partner with Etihad Airways in its lounges in Sydney and Melbourne airports and further looks forward to extending its partnership in future.”
