SkyTeam lounge opens at Istanbul

Istanbul Airport’s West Wing has welcomed global airline alliance SkyTeam’s seventh branded worldwide lounge, served by seven alliance members: Aeroflot, Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia and TAROM.

Available to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers, the 582sq m facility features work and relaxation areas, free wi-fi and locally-sourced food and drink set off by a statement reception area (below), LED lighting, custom furniture and living moss walls.

Food choices include freshly-cooked pide (Turkish pizza) prepared on-demand at a live cooking station and mezze, while the menu includes European dishes, as well as a selection of snacks.

Traditional tea and coffee are also served and spirits, soft drinks and wine sourced from local Turkish vineyards are also available.

SkyTeam CEO and managing director Kristin Colvile said: “SkyTeam is hyper-focused on creating the best in class customer experience of any alliance, and our branded lounges are key to achieving this goal.

“This striking new facility, which will be followed by our eighth branded lounge in Santiago de Chile early next year, is an important component of delivering a seamless experience at every step of our customers' journeys.”
