Further expansion in France with two more aircraft to be based there and the launch of seven new routes, plus 25 new routes for summer 2020 from the UK including two new destinations, are among easyJet’s plans for the new year.
In France, there are four new routes from Bordeaux, two from Toulouse and one from Nice. EasyJet opened its Bordeaux base in March 2018 and is placing a fifth Airbus A320 there for 2020.
The new routes from Bordeaux are seasonal services to Ajaccio, Figari and Olbia plus a year-round service to Fuerteventura. Toulouse, where easyJet is also adding a fifth aircraft next summer, gains Rennes year-round and Cagliari in summer.
The carrier plans to add a flight between Nice and Minorca from summer 2020.
From the UK, easyJet from next summer will fly to Tirana (Albania), for the first time three times a week from Gatwick with the first flight taking off on 1 May and to Tunisia for the first time since 2015 with two flights a week from Gatwick to Enfidha.
UK country manager Ali Gayward said: “We’re pleased to be continuing to deliver an unrivalled network which sees two new destinations for passengers from the UK and 25 new routes placed on sale across our network.”
