Demand from business travellers has spurred Flybe to increase peak-time capacity on flights to London City (LCY) from Edinburgh from 1 December. The enhanced service will use a 98-seat Embraer E190 from partner Stobart Air.
The winter programme which began last week and runs to 28 March 2020 sees a total of nine routes out of Edinburgh, operating up to 208 flights a week including 24 flights a week to London City.
The schedule also continues the sixth daily flight to Heathrow introduced this summer with an early-morning flight from the London hub and an evening return to Edinburgh at 20:15, arriving 22:00.
There are also up to seven flights a day to Birmingham; up to three a day to Manchester and up to four a day to Southampton, plus services to Belfast City, Cardiff, Exeter and Knock.
Flybe chief commercial officer Roy Kinnear said: "This winter, we are especially delighted to give those customers travelling with us to London City from Edinburgh an enhanced service with some jet services at peak times.
"Our schedule is built around giving passengers a wide choice of convenient travel options to the destinations they want, including those that also offer connections for onward travel.”
