High-end hospitality as well as “fantastic views” of the runway are being promised to users of a new luxury lounge at Newcastle International Airport (NCL). Construction is due to start shortly and the facility is set to open in time for next summer.
The new lounge (below), which will be able to seat 100, will feature an upmarket bar area and a range of quality food. It will be the airport’s third executive facility of its kind, alongside those operated by Aspire and British Airways.
Dedicated working zones will also be incorporated for business travellers, with desk space, charging ports and super-fast wi-fi to give users a quiet office-style area in which to work before their aircraft departures.
Airport chief executive Nick Jones said: “Airport lounges are becoming increasingly popular, and the introduction of this new premium facility in summer 2020 will ensure we are satisfying customer demand.
“We are working closely with the designers to create a high-quality facility that responds to a range of customer requirements including our business customers and we look forward to unveiling more information, including the name, soon.”
Passengers will be able to pre-book access into the lounge from January via the Newcastle Airport website or the NCL airport app.
