Lomond Lounge bows in at Glasgow

A new and exclusive VIP facility at Glasgow Airport has welcomed its first passengers with the opening of the £1.6m, 4,500sq ft Lomond Lounge. It is based airside in the departures area and operates between 05:00 and 21:00.

It is the fourth facility of its kind to be based at Glasgow – the most of any Scottish airport – and reflects what the airport says is a continuing rise in their popularity among passengers.

Emirates and British Airways both have their own separate facilities at Glasgow, while the airport has operated its own successful UpperDeck lounge for a number of years.

Airport managing director Mark Johnston said: “My team have worked hard to deliver this project and we are all immensely proud of it. It offers fantastic views while raising the benchmark by providing a premium level of service and comfort.”

The look and feel of the lounge have been inspired by the neighbouring landscape while features include a mix of table service for à la carte dining and more relaxed seating areas where passengers can unwind in comfort.

Also included is a business suite area with charging outlets, high-speed wi-fi and free national newspapers and magazines. Entry costs £40 and can be booked in advance by visiting the airport website on the day subject to availability.
