More 5-star from American

Passengers at more US airports now have access to American Airlines’ exclusive Five Star Service as the airline continues to expand the programme. It brings the total number offering the service to 16 in the US and four outside.

The service is described as a personalised airport experience available to passengers travelling in a premium cabin and designed to enhance departures, connections and arrivals in select markets.

Those purchasing the package have access to priority check-in, faster security screening, access to the Admirals Club, an escort to their gate and other experiences tailored to their interests.

It has now been extended to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Nashville International, New York Newark Liberty International and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International.

The expansion comes as American is investing more than $200m in the premium travel experience with new Flagship Lounges and renovated Admirals Clubs, elevated onboard dining and an award-winning wine programme.

The Five Star Service can also be upgraded to Five Star Select, which offers access to the Flagship Lounge, Flagship First Dining and a Cadillac transfer service between connecting flights.

Other features include a helicopter transfer service for premium passengers travelling to or from New York JFK and to or from Los Angeles International and expanded concierge services.
