Cathay Pacific Airways veteran Mandy Ng has been appointed CEO of HK Express with immediate effect, taking over from former CEO Ronald Lam, who has moved to Cathay Pacific as chief customer and commercial officer.
The moves follow a reshuffle at the Cathay Pacific Group following the resignations of CEO Rupert Hogg and his deputy, chief customer and commercial officer Paul Loo (BTN last week).
Cathay acquired HK Express earlier this year (BTN 1 April), with Lam appointed to the CEO post only a few weeks later with the completion of the acquisition process.
On his move, Lam said: “We have worked closely with the team at HK Express following its acquisition and have achieved a smooth transition while also laying down a solid transformation plan to make HK Express better and stronger.
“Ensuring continuity in HK Express’ business direction is of paramount importance. Mandy has worked with me both on the acquisition of HK Express and during the transitional process.”
Ng has spent 17 years with Cathay Pacific, beginning as a management trainee in 1999. She has since held a variety of positions involving planning, revenue and sales in Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia.
