InterContinental returns to Dallas

A new property in Dallas on top of the iconic 42-storey Cityplace Tower is in the pipeline from the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which claims to be the world's largest luxury hotel brand with 60-plus projects under development.

Set to open in early 2022, the new property will have 223 rooms occupying eight of the tower’s floors and will include a restaurant, full bar and lounge. Plans for the restaurant include a fourth-floor terrace overlooking the Uptown neighbourhood.

Additional hotel features include an outdoor pool, business centre, fitness complex, signature Club InterContinental lounge and on-site parking.

The hotel is part of the redevelopment of Cityplace Tower by local developer NexPoint which also features a renovated lobby for the building, concourse-level food and shops and a second fitness centre.

IHG chief development officer for the Americas Joel Eisemann said: “We are pleased to be bringing the InterContinental brand back to Dallas, and offer our well known luxury service to business and leisure travellers.

“With its iconic design, sweeping panoramic views of the Dallas skyline and premier Uptown neighbourhood location, the Cityplace Tower is a natural fit for an InterContinental hotel and will be an important addition to our luxury portfolio in the Americas.”
