Park in style at Newcastle

A ‘Premium Meet and Greet’ car parking facility opened last week at Newcastle International Airport with a high-spec hotel-style reception area and photo booths which inspect each vehicle as it enters to give users peace of mind.

The development is part of multi-million-pound plans announced by the airport last December to upgrade its parking. It is just 30m from the terminal with passengers greeted at the reception desk to hand over their keys.

They then head straight into the building. The team also ensure vehicles are available for a hassle-free collection on passengers’ return from their trips, making for a personalised experience.

The facility was officially opened by airport chief operating officer Richard Knight and head of commercial Dean Ward. Ward said: “Demand for this facility has increased dramatically and it’s important to invest in new infrastructure to improve the customer experience further.

Other upgrades to the parking facilities include a new Premium Fast Track car parking area with extra-wide bays located even closer to the terminal. It is already available to book and will be open to the public this month. Pre-booking is required.
