Stobart Leeds Bradford – Dublin rise

A 20% increase in seat capacity on Dublin routes from Leeds Bradford Airport starting from 28 October was announced last week by Stobart Air, which operates Aer Lingus regional routes.

The carrier says the increase will see up to three daily flights on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays operated by Stobart Air “to meet demand from Irish and UK business customers in particular, who require choice and flexibility of flight times”.

The move will also facilitate onward connections to the US via Aer Lingus transatlantic services, for which US Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance is provided at Dublin Airport.

Stobart Air managing director Graeme Buchanan said the company would operate ATR 72-600 aircraft to service the flights between Leeds and Dublin, with the extra capacity totalling an additional 1,700 seats monthly.

Leeds Bradford Airport aviation and commercial director John Cunliffe added: “This investment in additional capacity by Stobart Air on the route further confirms the economic significance of the Leeds City Region, the largest economy in the UK outside of London.

“We offer routes to more than 70 direct destinations, with onward connections to all corners of the globe and I am delighted to be working with Stobart Air to support the development both of Leeds Bradford and the wider region.”
