Curio Collection latest for Malaga

Spain’s Costa del Sol has gained a major new conference centre with the opening by Hilton of the Higuerón Hotel Malaga. Part of the Curio Collection portfolio, it is near the city centre and 12km from Malaga-Costa del Sol International Airport.

The 177-room hotel’s 2,255sq m conference centre is claimed to be the biggest in the region, with six meeting rooms and capacity for up to 1,000 attendees. The hotel is set to add 113 premium suites next year, bringing the number of rooms to 290.

Each of the present guestrooms features special Spanish touches, such as original lithography made with local materials, while the 24 panoramic suites boast glass panel balconies and terraces with 360deg views overlooking the Mediterranean.

Other features include six restaurants and bars offering farm-to-table produce and local dining and including the Michelin-starred Sollo by Diego Gallegos serving dishes based on river fish and caviar cultivated onsite at the hotel’s hydroponic farm.

Outdoor treatments are available at the Nagomi Spa, which also offers state-of-the-art treatment rooms and hydrotherapy cabins. Extensive sports facilities are also onsite, including a 24/7 fitness centre, tennis court and four pools.
