easyJet to recruit

EasyJet has announced that recruitment for its 2019 Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will begin on 3 June.

Fourteen successful recruits will undertake 24 months of classroom and on the job training which will lead to a professionally recognised qualification in aeronautical engineering.

The airline will hold two open evenings for prospective candidates to meet members of easyJet’s engineering team and training facilitators to learn more about the two-year apprenticeship programme. These will be held on Tuesday 4 June from 17:30 to 20:00 at Hilton Hotel Gatwick and on Thursday 6 June from 17:30 to 20:00 at easyJet’s academy at Luton Airport.

Aidan Kearney, head of maintenance operations at easyJet said: “I am delighted that our engineering apprenticeship scheme will be opening again.

“The scheme gives prospective engineers a springboard into a diverse choice of career path and locations. Many of the senior engineering management team, in addition to myself, entered the industry as apprentices and I look forward to welcoming our newest recruits in the coming months.”

The easyJet Engineering Apprenticeship Programme is a two-year course consisting of a combination of classroom and practical training.

EasyJet’s engineering apprenticeship scheme has been in place since 2012 and complements the airline's cabin crew apprenticeship scheme operational control centre apprenticeship programme which both launched earlier this year.
