Sherlock becomes Holmes

International developer the PPHE Hotel Group is opening its debut premium boutique property, Holmes Hotel London, formerly the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London, in a few weeks.

The group owns and develops hotels and resorts internationally, operates the Park Plaza Hotels and Resorts brand in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and also owns the art’otelâ brand.

The new Holmes Hotel (below) is in Marylebone and has had a multi-million-pound refurbishment of guestrooms and public areas, resulting in what the company calls “a new luxurious identity synonymous with an upmarket boutique aesthetic”.

The 5,499sq m property comprises four classic Georgian buildings housed over four floors with  interiors and ambience designed to reflect the atmosphere of Marylebone Village.

Facilities include 118 guestrooms, three meeting spaces, a gym and an all-day dining destination, Kitchen at Holmes, with a seasonally inspired menu.

PPHE president and CEO Boris Ivesha said the new hotel would be “reflective of the iconic personality and ambience of Marylebone”. It is the first of several similar projects this year with refurbs taking place in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Croatia.
