InterContinental Houston

The massive Texas Medical Centre in Houston now has a brand new InterContinental hotel as a neighbour. The opening was announced last week.

The striking 21-storey hotel features 124 deluxe king-bed guestrooms, 193 deluxe double-queens, 37 stylish suites and the brand’s world-renowned Club InterContinental Lounge that combines highly personalised service and exclusive privileges. The hotel amenities include the Mediterranean restaurant, Safina Restaurant & Bar, an outdoor pool and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The property is next to the Texas Medical Centre, said to be the world’s largest medical complex. The hotel expects to host both business and leisure travellers offering unrivalled accommodation, amenities, guest services, and significant conference facilities and event space.

The InterContinental Houston hotel includes expansive conference facilities designed to host large groups and conventions, with 18,000sq ft of meeting space, including board rooms and a 7,646sq ft grand ballroom.

An additional 6,000sq ft of pre-function event space, an outdoor terrace mezzanine and supplementary outdoor pool terrace event space all combine to make the hotel the largest conference space of any building on the Texas Medical Centre campus.
