More Poland services for Wizz

Two new services to Poland – a daily operation between Gatwick and Gdansk and three-times-weekly flights linking Birmingham and Krakow – have been announced by Wizz Air in a further expansion of its UK presence.

Gatwick will be the fifth airport in Wizz Air’s network to connect the UK to the port city of Gdansk, with flights already operating from Aberdeen, Doncaster Sheffield, Liverpool and Luton.

Launch of the Birmingham – Krakow flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays follows the establishment by Wizz of its Krakow base last September. It will be Wizz’s third route to operate from the UK to one of Poland’s oldest cities, with flights from Luton and Doncaster Sheffield due to start next month.

Birmingham Airport aviation director Tom Screen said: “Welcoming a new route to the airport is always exciting. Wizz Air now operate six routes from Birmingham Airport with destinations including Budapest, Bucharest, Wroclaw, Cluj and Warsaw.”

With this announcement, Wizz now offers 96 routes to 27 countries from nine UK airports.
