Wyndham Trademark for UK

Another new hotel brand is heading for the UK this year as Wyndham’s upper-midscale Trademark Collection division arrives with the launch of the Bliss Hotel Southport.

The 133-room property was formerly operating as a Ramada Plaza under Wyndham’s Ramada brand, but property owner Bliss Investment Partners has reflagged it as a way to establish a new hotel group under the Bliss name.

The rebrand is so far in name only, with 2019 set aside for renovations including new room designs, adding three 60sq m penthouses, 650sq m of new public areas, a 278sq m roof garden and new food and drink options at Bliss Kitchen.

The hotel has 15 meeting rooms and a capacity of 1,600 conference guests and 700 banquet guests.

Bliss plans to expand its hotel arm to other coastal locations and secondary UK cities, creating a ‘mini chain’ of around 10 Trademark hotels by 2026. The group has also acquired Southport’s Waterfront development.

“The Bliss Hotel project and Waterfront regeneration represents a fantastic opportunity for Southport, the North West and all involved,” said Jez Marvin, of appointed architects Unwin Jones Partnership.

Wyndham’s Trademark Collection was launched in 2017 and has properties in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the US and Canada.
