Air France-KLM summer increase

An overall 2% increase in capacity compared to the previous summer season is being launched by Air France-KLM for this year’s peak period, with 58 new routes throughout the group network.

The expansion brings the number of destinations to 302 in 114 countries with long-haul passenger operations growing by 1.3%, medium- and short-haul operations by 1.2% and low-cost operations by Transavia by 9.3%.

On long-haul, Air France-KLM will operate four new routes with Air France adding services to Dallas and Quito from Paris Charles de Gaulle and KLM launching flights to Boston and Las Vegas from Amsterdam Schiphol.

Extra flights are also being added to existing long-haul destinations covering North America, Central and South America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East and Africa and the Indian Ocean.

The medium- and short-haul network will see 26 new routes, while Transavia will develop its network from its bases at Orly, Lyon and Nantes in France and Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven in Holland with 28 new routes.

Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith said: "As Europe’s leading long-haul airline group, our aim, is clear: Air France, KLM and Transavia must be our customers' reference brands for all their travel plans in Europe and worldwide.”
