Spurred on by the latest Veganuary campaign and with more people choosing to remove animal products from their diets, the UK’s third largest airline, Jet2.com, has launched its first inflight vegan meal as it refreshes its onboard menu for 2019.
The popular penne arrabbiata pasta dish is now available to buy on board and the carrier has also added vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free logos to relevant products to make the menu card easier to navigate for customers.
Also new for 2019 is Freixenet prosecco, part of an onboard menu that Jet2.com says is “hugely popular” with passengers and offers a wide selection of classic snacks, healthy food options, sweet treats and plenty of refreshing drinks.
CEO Steve Heapy said: “Jet2.com and Jet2holidays customers constantly praise our extensive selection of on-board food and drink, so we are always looking at how we can best keep up to date with current tastes and trends.
“We have worked closely with our food suppliers to source a meal that is not only a delicious choice for our vegan customers, but is also a great meal option for everyone on our flights.”
