KLM Dutch treat for Cardiff

A five-week eve-of-springtime boost for the Cardiff – Amsterdam service has been announced by KLM from Sunday 24 February to Saturday 30 March, creating more than 8,500 extra seats on the route.

The extra afternoon departure creates new opportunities for the short break market and for passengers wanting to take advantage of quick and easy worldwide connections on KLM via the award-winning Amsterdam Schiphol hub.

The airline, which celebrated 30 years of flying from Wales’ national airport in 2018, says the extra service, to be operated by a larger Boeing B737-700 has been scheduled due to customer demand.

This means customers will have their choice of up to four flights a day, seven days a week to Amsterdam – the destination that’s consistently named Cardiff’s number 1 most popular route – thanks to consistently busy flights.

Cardiff Airport commercial director Spencer Birns said: “The extra flights come at an ideal time for our passengers to benefit from great fares to the destination voted as our most popular.

“In the other direction, the increased service also creates new opportunities for international business and leisure customers to use Cardiff Airport as their gateway to the UK.”
