AND FINALLY: Not so Secret Service

Pity the poor US Secret Service.

Millions of dollars are invested every year in its primary task of protecting the president by keeping his every move under wraps until the last minute. But a Sheffield man who describes himself as an “aviation nut” made Donald Trump's recent top-secret mission to Iraq public when he photographed Air Force One flying over his home city.

Alan Meloy was taking photos of passing aircraft when he saw the president's distinctive VIP transport overhead. He took a picture (below) and posted it on Flickr.

Observers were quick to work out the president was probably heading to the Middle East. With the photo shared on social media, a ban on reporting the trip, agreed with the White House press corps, was hastily lifted.

I would politely point out that the 'original' pic that was posted was of significantly greater clarity and the aircraft markings clearly seen.
