Where would you find a blue-eyed cockatoo called Brexit, a replica of Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, an amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a chest full of semi-precious stones and a brand new ice cream van?
Talking of food and drink, you can add a 5ft teddy bear made of sweet and savoury popcorn and a vintage bottle of 1943 champagne worth more than £1,000.
They and many more exotic items all turned up at Travelodge’s Lost and Found office as revealed last week in the budget hotel brand’s list of some of the interesting items left behind in its 557 UK properties during the past 12 months.
A hotel official explained: “With nearly 19m people annually staying in a Travelodge hotel – half of them business travellers – you sort of get to expect it.”
