IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has opened its first Staybridge Suites property in the Netherlands. The development is in the heart of the Hague, opposite the world’s oldest parliament building still in use, the Binnenhof.
The property, Staybridge Suites The Hague – Parliament (below), sits alongside the Court Pond, the ‘Hofvijver’, and the Mauritshuis Museum, and is designed for extended-stay business travellers and families and offers 101 suites with full kitchens, living areas and flexible working spaces.
Guests have free wi-fi, The Pantry, which provides food essentials for guests to buy 24hr a day, free breakfast and laundry facilities and a 24/7 fitness room. There is also a midweek ‘Social’ for guests to meet one another over drinks and snacks.
The layout and interior design of the hotel, which covers three buildings, two of them on the central Lange Vijverberg, are inspired by the Hague’s rich history and environment.
General manager Floor Hilhorst said: “We are delighted to be bringing the Staybridge Suites brand to The Netherlands. It is a hotel where guests can live rather than stay and is perfect for business travellers looking for this option in one of Europe’s most historic cities.”
