A 190-room hotel under the NH Hotel Group’s design and lifestyle brand ‘nhow’ is set to open in London this summer in the 250 City Road development between the City, Islington and Shoreditch.
Designed by Sir Norman Foster’s architectural firm Foster + Partners, the 4-star property will be the NH group’s second in the UK and will have a design said to combine traditional British icons with unconventional contemporary elements.
Architect James Soane, co-director of the London-based Project Orange interiors studio, and his team are responsible for the interior design which as well as the rooms will also feature a restaurant, bar, gym and networking and meeting spaces.
The restaurant, The Bell, is promised to be an avant-garde version of a traditional British pub, with green leather seating throughout and tables featuring cockney rhyming slang.
NH Hotels northern Europe managing director Maarten Markus said “As a vibrant, international metropolis, London is the perfect location for a nhow hotel.
“The properties within the brand are an expression and measure of the modern city dynamic and nhow London will reflect both the industrial past and technological future of its location and will become a creative hub for the neighbourhood.”
