Loganair adds routes

Two new routes from Bournemouth airport to Guernsey and Jersey and midweek flights added to its recently-announced weekend Edinburgh – Guernsey service have been unveiled by Loganair for next summer.

The Edinburgh development means passengers will have more choice of travel dates for a short season between 2 July – 13 August inclusive, in addition to the Saturday flights already announced from 11 May – 14 September. The service will use a 37-seater Embraer jet, the latest addition to Loganair's fleet.

Commercial director Kay Ryan said: "We have been encouraged by the initial uptake of the Saturday service, and have decided to add the additional Tuesday flights which correspond with the Scottish school holidays, as well as the start of the Edinburgh Festival."

At Bournemouth, the seasonal service to Guernsey and Jersey will operate between the end of April and October 2019 using 37-seat Embraer E135 jet aircraft, with the Guernsey route taking about 40min and the Jersey flight about 45min.

Loganair will operate three flights a week to Jersey on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays and a weekly Saturday service to Guernsey.

Managing director Jonathan Hinkles said: “The new routes build on the success of our Guernsey operation from Glasgow and Jersey from Norwich this year, which will repeat for summer 2019.”
