Brand No 3 for Fusion

A third brand is being added next year to the portfolio of Vietnam’s Fusion Hotel Group, which specialises in upscale spa inclusive resorts and chic city hotels, with the opening of the first Fusion Originals hotel  in Ho Chi Minh City.

Each Originals property will bear the name of a pioneering artist, inventor, scientist  or social leader, with British botanist, scientist and naturalist Charles Darwin the choice for the inaugural member of the collection.

Chief architect Remco de Hoog said: “World-changing ideas are what Fusion is all about and Charles Darwin is the perfect person to launch this exciting, slightly rebellious all-new brand.”

Darwin - a Fusion Original is under construction in the heart of Saigon’s District 1,  less than 200m from the iconic opera house and close to shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and other visitor attractions.

The 88-room hotel will pay homage to its namesake by creating an air of 19th-century discovery and adventure, focusing on Darwin’s studies – and with a copy of Darwin’s most famous publication, On the Origin of Species, in every room.

“With Darwin and every Fusion Original after it, you’ll never quite know what to expect,” de Hoog added. “We love shaking things up.”
