AND FINALLY: Istanbul airport named

The grand opening of Istanbul Airport took place on 29 October, the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.

More than 5,000 guests, including some 10 foreign leaders, gathered to celebrate in an inaugural ceremony where Turkish President Erdoğan announced: “This airport, the largest in the world, shall be known as Istanbul Airport.”

Now you know.

There were no winners of our competition. (See last week’s BTN "AND FINALLY")

PS: An inaugural flight did take place last Wednesday (31 October). We await the full schedule.

And see below a recent image of T1. Also ON TOUR 29 October 2018
