OPEN SKIES, the loss making British Airways Paris-based business class airline, is to retrench even further and withdraw from New York’s Kennedy airport from the new year. See AERBT 14 December Effective 4 January the airline will offer only a twice daily two-class Boeing 757 service out of Orly to Newark the New Jersey alternative for Manhattan. Open Skies is part of BA Miles but with Continental (now part of Star Alliance) the main operator out of Newark, Open Skies concentrates on A to B traffic rather than connecting business. It is not part of oneworld. www.flyopenskies.com
