Brooklands free entrance

Do you live in the Weybridge area, Surrey, Berkshire or South West London and have an interest in cars, aviation, and even pedal cycles?

The Brooklands Museum is looking for volunteers to become involved in the birthplace of not only motor racing but UK aviation too. If it is buses, the stratosphere, or two-wheelers, there is something to interest you too.

On Sunday 28 October, Brooklands is holding a briefing session (11:00–13:00) with both full-time and volunteer staff explaining what is required in the terms of help, and how it works. Admission to the session is free, with a chance to look around the extensive site.

If you have not been to Brooklands in recent times you will be in for some surprises, with the old Wellington production hangar moved and completely refurbished and now called the Brooklands Aircraft Factory.

Between 1909 and 1984, nearly 19,000 aircraft were produced at Brooklands, making it easily Europe’s largest aircraft factory.
