Ramada opens in Portugal

A new property in Lisbon marks the latest move by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to continue its European expansion through the Ramada by Wyndham brand. It is the division’s first opening in Portugal.

The development adds to a growing portfolio of more than 120 Ramada by Wyndham hotels across Europe, including key destinations such as the UK, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy and the Netherlands.

The new property will be operated by Portuguese hospitality management expert Discovery Hotel Management, under a long-term franchise agreement with Wyndham.

With 300 rooms and occupying the site of the former Olaias Park Hotel, Ramada by Wyndham Lisbon is a short drive from Lisbon International Airport and a 15min metro ride from the city centre.

Other features include two floors of conference and events space, with 11 meeting rooms and a state-of-the-art auditorium which can accommodate up to 280 people.

Wyndham regional vice-president for western Europe Patrick Divall said: “Portugal’s thriving scene and Lisbon’s status as a European capital continue to attract business travellers from around the world.

“Ramada by Wyndham is our most global brand, and we are thrilled to add Portugal to our growing list of more than 60 countries worldwide where the brand can be found.”
