GTMC’s new diploma

A new three-stage e-learning programme developed in conjunction with online training provider Travilearn and designed to be the “gold standard” in corporate travel training has been launched by the GTMC.

The new GTMC Diploma in Corporate Travel Management covers all the topics relevant for career success in the modern world of business travel. Aimed at the GTMC’s member TMC staff, both new to the industry and on a career journey.

The Diploma also enables those joining the industry from the leisure sphere, for example, to learn about business travel and the TMC role.

Each of the diploma’s three courses contains modules covering a variety of subject areas and featuries a range of “toolkit” specialisms. The courses are Introduction to Corporate Travel (Level 1); 21st Century Travel Management (Level 2); and Next Generation Travel Management (Level 3). To obtain a diploma, candidates must complete 15 modules and 10 toolkits across the three courses, along with a final exam.

GTMC chief executive Adrian Parkes said: “The GTMC is investing considerable time and effort in education to ensure our sector has a ready supply of well-qualified employees for the future. This new diploma will drive up standards and create a clear pathway for career development.”
