East Midlands Airport gets better railway access

SHEFFIELD AND SOUTH YORKSHIRE travellers will benefit from a new hourly service to East Midlands Airport which was introduced last week.  Chesterfield passengers will also benefit from 16 direct train services to and from the airport.  These new services are being introduced as the result of a successful partnership between East Midlands Trains, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) and Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency.  Also improved is the service between Sheffield and London with the introduction of two trains an hour.  East Midlands Parkway station is 10/15 minutes from the airport with a fare of £2 single (children half price). www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk
