Proposed measures to manage and mitigate the impact of aviation-related noise are being put before the public, local authorities and other key stakeholders by Aberdeen International Airport as part of a new consultation.
Local communities will be invited to provide their views on the Draft Noise Action Plan through the survey, which began last week and will close on 9 November.
Airports are required to update noise action plans every five years. The new plan once finalised will cover airport operations at Aberdeen which is in the midst of a £20m development of its terminal, up until 2023.
The airport says it has made significant progress in tackling aircraft noise, and already has a comprehensive package of measures in place.
Owning company AGS Airports chief HR and development director Roger Hunt said: “The airport plays a vital role in supporting the economy and we are committed to ensuring it continues to do so in a responsible and sustainable manner.
“We know airport-related noise is an important issue. This consultation will give people the opportunity to share their views – we want to strike the right balance between growing in a responsible manner while enhancing the undoubted economic and social benefits of the airport.”
