Latest cabin innovations by Airbus are among the attractions at this week’s Apex Expo, billed as the world’s largest event for in-flight entertainment, connectivity and passenger services. The four-day event opens today, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Airbus is introducing the latest “Connected-Cabin” ideas for personalising the passenger experience and is also planning to update visitors on the ongoing rollout of the Airspace cabin brand.
A highlight of the Expo is expected to be the debut of a full-scale mock-up of the interior of Airbus’ new A220 Family to demonstrate the company’s work to introduce superior comfort for smaller single-aisle aircraft.
Passenger-pleasing features on show include wide seats and aisle, high-capacity overhead baggage stowage and large windows. In addition, all Airbus aircraft cabins will be presented in full 3D using VR headsets.
Demonstrating that Airbus’ space-efficient concepts go beyond new products, the company’s Upgrade Services division is also presenting its range of retrofit solutions and services, with cabin experts and executives available for briefings each day.
Boeing will also be at Apex to talk about its own progress in interiors integration, delivering high-quality, aesthetically pleasing and innovative products, services and a broad range of interior and IFE modernisation solutions with full-service integration.
