YouGov ratings slide for BA

People’s opinion of British Airways as a positive brand has slipped by 13 points in a year, new research by YouGov revealed last week.

Members of the public were asked if they had a positive or negative impression of a brand. “Despite experiencing some difficulties over the past couple of years, BA just about hangs on to top spot,” YouGov reported. “However, it now shares first place with Virgin Atlantic, with both companies on +29.”

YouGov’s Airline Report 2018 shows Singapore Airlines (SIA) scored highest when passengers were asked whether they would recommend the brand to friends or colleagues or tell them to avoid it. It was followed by Emirates, Air New Zealand, Norwegian Air and Etihad Airways.

Asked about satisfaction levels, respondents to the survey again put SIA at the top of the list, this time with a score of +90, an improvement of four points.

EasyJet was named best-value airline, ahead of Jet2 and Flybe, with Thomas Cook and Virgin Atlantic rounding off the top five.

I take any YouGov results with a pinch of salt, the private company is owned by tory MP Nadhim Zahawi.
