A new 57-apartment aparthotel called Rockwell East, complete with all-day dining café, has opened in London. It is owned by the property developer Marldon and was designed by Waldo Works.
The development, in Aldgate, on the fringes of the City and a short walk from the Tower of London, is being promoted as an ideal destination for travellers staying in town "for one night or several months".
Marldon says the spacious apartments, ranging from studios to one-bedroom and family complexes “have all the features of a design-led modern home, coupled with a level of service found in a high-end hotel".
On the design front, the base palette for the rooms is said to be “inspired by the patterns and colours of the sky, with the theme offset by deep inky blues and highlighted by accents and colours tailored to each space”.
The café is open from 07:00–00:00 every day and designed for guests and visitors to eat, work and relax in 24/7, whether for a coffee, cocktails, breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.
It is divided into separate areas by banquettes and also features black steel chairs and lighting, soft cork upholstery and lightly brushed brass for the bar and other dining areas.
