Dusit adds Doha

Further expansion for the Dusit International hotel group has seen the company sign a management agreement with the Al Majed Group to operate the Dusit Doha. It will be the group’s first Dusit-branded hotel in Qatar.

Set to open in quarter four of this year, the 5-star property is in Doha’s West Bay area a 25min drive from Hamad International Airport and within walking distance of the city centre, Gate Mall and the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The property will have 261 guest rooms and suites, along with 96 hotel apartments. Each guest room will be a minimum 41sq m, one of the largest of its kind in the West Bay area.

Qatar is set to host two of the world’s largest sporting events soon: The World Athletic Championships in 2019 and the FIFA World Cup in 2022, with the World Cup alone expected to draw more than 1m visitors.

With 27 properties across four brands in eight countries, Dusit International says it is in a significant growth phase which will see the number of its properties reach 50-plus within the next three to four years across key markets worldwide.
