Cranfield courses unveiled

Details of forthcoming courses for 2018-19 have been announced by the Cranfield Centre for Air Transport Management in Bedfordshire, globally recognised as a leading research and teaching centre.

The centre focuses on the commercial aspects of managing airlines and airports through integrating management with economics, finance, strategy, planning, design, operations, marketing, business development and technology.

It offers a range of open-access continuing professional development (CPD) programmes, as well as the opportunity to develop fully-customised programmes designed to individual client specifications.

The forthcoming short courses for 2018/19 include Airport Operations, from 29 October – 2 November; Air Transport Management Seminar, 19–23 November, and The Airport Business, 29 November – 1 December.

The new year programme starts with a course on Airport Strategic Planning from 14–18 January; followed by Air Transport Environmental Planning, 28 January – 1 February, and Airport Design, 18–22 February.

Latest developments at Cranfield include a plan in collaboration with Blue Bear Systems Research to enable drones and unmanned aircraft to fly along a special corridor in the same airspace as manned aircraft.

The goal is to provide a safe, managed environment for experimentation machines with a view to their integration into controlled and uncontrolled airspace.
