Travelodge adds a Plus

Money-conscious travellers seeking more style and choice than available in the average budget hotel are being wooed by a new Travelodge format called Travelodge Plus.

The company says the format will offer “a distinctive choice of rooms” plus a new style bar/café with facilities to make it easier for guests to work and relax outside their rooms.

Each Travelodge Plus hotel includes upgraded rooms with king-size Travelodge Dreamer beds, blackout curtains for a relaxing environment and a good night’s sleep, USB ports and pixel wall art showcasing business and leisure locations.

A “premium economy” option called SuperRooms features Hansgrohe Raindance showers, in-room Lavazza coffee pod machines, irons and ironing boards, larger desks and USB power points throughout.

The new bar/cafés will have distinctive zones to suit the needs of business and leisure travellers, including counter seating with built-in USB and laptop power for those working outside their rooms.

The new format will be rolled out initially through an investment of more than £10m at hotels in Brighton, Edinburgh, Gatwick Airport, London, York and the group’s largest new-build so far, a 395-room hotel opening shortly in the City of London.
