Delta B777 upgrade

A full-fleet interior renovation of its Boeing B777 aircraft is under way at Delta Air Lines, with the first refreshed B777-200ER taking flight from Detroit to Beijing with new award-winning Delta One suites.

The aircraft also features the new Delta Premium Select cabin and the widest Main Cabin seats of Delta's international fleet, among other interior upgrades, with the airline saying it is putting customer comfort first.

Highlights of the programme include 296 seats total, with 28 Delta One suites, 48 Delta Premium Select seats and 220 in the main cabin, where there is nine-abreast seating versus the industry norm of 10 across.

Seatback entertainment screens are being installed throughout with Delta Studio and thousands of hours of content free across all cabins and the upgrade also features full-spectrum LED ambient lighting customised depending on the phase of flight.

Delta One suites offer each passenger a private space accessed by a sliding door with personal stowage areas, an advanced in-flight entertainment system and premium trim to create what Delta calls “an unparalleled Business Class experience”.

Aircraft are equipped with Gogo Ku wi-fi connectivity and passengers will have access to free mobile messaging while on board through iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
