Farnborough 2018 shapes up

Companies throughout the aviation industry are making final preparations for the bi-annual Farnborough Airshow, with the 2018 gathering running from 16-22 July. Public days are on 21 and 22 July.

Top exhibitors this year will be the major airframe manufacturers, with Airbus expected to show off its latest aircraft, the A350XWB, and Boeing showcasing its MAX variant of the best-selling B737.

Embraer of Brazil will also be displaying its E190-E2 aircraft along with the Legacy 500 & Phenom business jets as it attempts to woo European customers. Bombardier will have the latest on its new links with Airbus and activity in the US market along with status reports on its CRJ, C and Q Series aircraft.

Also exhibiting at the show will be all the major engine manufacturers, with Rolls-Royce, GE and Pratt & Whitney all vying to be the choice of airlines as they look to recover from a turbulent period.

For those looking for entertainment in the sky,  Farnborough is one of the few air shows where audiences can see fast jets mixing with large commercial airlines, with past displays seeing the likes of the A380 and B787 showing their flexibility.
