AND FINALLY: How not to park a Porsche

While Sydney revels in world attention from the aviation industry this week with the arrival of the IATA AGM, at least one hotel employee probably wishes it wasn’t quite so much in the spotlight.

This is the man who lived to tell the tale after the soft-top Porsche Carrera he was valet parking ended up underneath a rather larger Subaru SUV outside the Darling Harbour Hyatt Regency. The Carrera sells in Australia for A$240,000-plus (about £136,000).

Sydney being on alert as it is, word spread and a large crowd watched emergency services workers cut the driver out of the car. Hotel sales and marketing director Matthew Talbot confirmed the man was “embarrassed and a little bit shocked”, but unharmed.
