A new-look Nimb

A new roof terrace complete with rooftop pool and bar, a sports club equipped with the latest high-tech equipment and new treatment rooms are on the way at the Nimb Hotel, one of Copenhagen’s best-known places to stay.

Recognisable from its Moorish-palace design and Venetian marble façade, the property stands in the heart of the Tivoli Gardens and is pursuing an extensive expansion plan incorporating the new features, which are due to open by autumn.

The work, being carried out with the help of New York-based architects Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, has already resulted in the addition of 21 suites in a new 2,000sqm wing which opened at the end of last year in the newly built Tivoli Corner.

As well as the hotel, Tivoli Corner houses several restaurants, the Tivoli Food Hall, with 16 food stands, and the Illums Bolighus shop offering Danish and international home décor brands including Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen and others.

General manager Iben Marburger said: “The expansion of Nimb Hotel by a further 21 rooms and the roof terrace means we now have the exotic charm of the old building and the bang up-to-date design experience of the new one.”
