Twice-weekly direct services between Larnaca and Düsseldorf were inaugurated by fast-growing Cyprus carrier Cobalt Air last week as the company welcomed its second German city after Frankfurt to its network.
The new service, operated by an Airbus A320 with all-Economy Class seating, operates on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The route is particularly useful for business travellers with Düsseldorf, Germany’s seventh-biggest city, acting as a major gateway to Germany. More than 350 trains, from urban services to ICE intercity expresses use Düsseldorf Airport station daily.
Cobalt CEO Andrew Madar said: “Düsseldorf is a very welcome addition to our expanding European network and complements our regular Frankfurt services.
“We are pleased to be linking Cyprus with such a popular region in Germany and one which is also an important business and financial hub, renowned for its fashion and trade fairs.
“While we are a relatively new player in the Cyprus market, we have been enjoying strong demand for our services and hospitality and look forward to welcoming more travellers to and from Germany.”
