Just weeks away from launching its new base at Birmingham Airport with direct low-cost services to New York, Toronto, Malaga, Barcelona, Palma and Crete, Primera Air says it has been given a warm welcome by the Midlands business community.
Chief commercial officer Anastasija Visnakova said, “We are proud and excited to place Birmingham on our route map for 2018. With two transatlantic and four short-haul destinations, we are opening operations and looking forward to further development.
“This is an important first step for us and a significant development for Birmingham Airport and the region. With the technology that our brand new fleet offers, expensive transatlantic travel becomes a thing of history”.
Primera is operating new Airbus A321 Neos out of the new base with 16 Premium Economy and 182 Economy seats. Passengers can also use wi-fi on board and the aircraft has full charging facilities for their devices.
Primera’s first flights will be on 14 May to Malaga and Palma, with New York launching on 18 May and Toronto on 23 June. Crete will start on 30 July and Barcelona on 1 October.
Flights to New York will operate four times weekly and to Toronto three times a week. Malaga, Palma and Barcelona will operate daily and Crete every Monday.
