Kempinski Muscat open

A new 5-star property has opened in the Omani capital in the shape of the Kempinski Hotel Muscat, spread over 6km of coastline in the Al Mouj district and featuring 310 rooms and suites.

Designed by Woods Bagot, the building, under general manager Carsten Wiegandt, also offers state-of-the-art meeting facilities, 10 world-class restaurants and bars, a fully-equipped health club and an authentic Middle Eastern spa.

Cigar aficionados can unwind in a specialist lounge and bar offering a selection of single malt whisky, while the hotel’s beach club, Zale, uses seasonal ingredients and the fresh local produce for a global menu.

The Kempinski has also opened a one-of-a-kind entertainment centre in Al Mouj, where guests can also unwind after work or watch the latest sporting events on large screens with drinks and light snacks.

The 1,100sqm pillar-free ballroom can accommodate up to 700 guests and can be divided into three sections. The hotel also has 11 separate function rooms, featuring natural daylight and equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment.

Features within the Al Mouj waterside community include more shops and restaurants, a 400-dock marina plus an 18-hole golf course minutes from the airport.
