A 20,000sq m conference and exhibitions centre with room for up to 10,000 delegates and costing £30m has opened for business at the home of the Farnborough International Air Show.
The purpose-built facility, claimed to be able to offer flexible space for events of all sizes, is designed to build on Farnborough’s reputation as a major business hub and is 35min by train from central London and easily accessible from the M3 and Heathrow.
Features include conference-style seating for 2,500 plus 12,500sq m of flexible exhibition space and 3,500 free car parking spaces. The centre is also close to a number of quality hotels including the four-star-plus Aviator as well as a Holiday Inn and Premier Inn.
Farnborough International CEO Gareth Rogers said: “Our organisation brings decades of experience in delivering complex events on a world stage to the running of this new centre.”
The complex joins a portfolio of existing venues on the site and already has a number of events confirmed. It will be at the heart of this year’s air show in July, a biennial event which in 2016 saw $124bn worth of deals announced.
